momaw Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Apparently a number of titles mastered in Europe DO NOT WORK ON THE HD-A1 or HD-XA1. They do work on the local E1 and XE1 machines. One of the confirmed titles is Enemy at the Gates (released as Stalingrad) It is being looked into, but given these players were never released in these markets, it will be up to a US firmware patch to fix. If you have an import Gen 1 machine, be careful and research your titles before ordering.
Craigus Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Are they mastered at 25 fps (i.e. output at 1080i50)?
momaw Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 Are they mastered at 25 fps (i.e. output at 1080i50)? Beats me, if it was something that simple I'm sure it would have been posted. Good thinking though.
The_Preacher1973 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Beats me, if it was something that simple I'm sure it would have been posted.Good thinking though. It'll be the introduction of region encoding that Skid's always going on about.
momaw Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 It'll be the introduction of region encoding that Skid's always going on about. It apparently gives a message of "Disc inserted is not a DVD"
momaw Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 Could it be a dual layer disc? no foggy, it's the new TL51
momaw Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 is it region coded? There is no region coding. Even if it were, the message would be incorrect region.
Tweet Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 There is no region coding.Even if it were, the message would be incorrect region. Well it won't be 1080p/50 as that is incompatible (without a firmware update) with the E 1 and XE1. C.M
MeWhoElse Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Well it won't be 1080p/50 as that is incompatible (without a firmware update) with the E 1 and XE1.C.M 1080p50, would be very unlikely for either format, I believe you meant 1080p25! Will be interesting to see when the "fix" is released... like, when will V1.3 firmware be released in Australia for the HD-E1!!!
