I just had Foxtel IQ installed this morning (via Optus) and apparently there is no Component output on this box??

I'm positive I read on these forums there was one?

Specs below:

There is but it is via the SCART output labelled tv. You will need an appropriate SCART to component cable and have to set the 'video output' option in 'picture settings' to YUV.

Sorry if this is in the wrong area but I am at a loss.

I just recently got the SCART to Component cable (Foxtel's one) to connet to my LG 111 rear projection TV I have the UEC 1000 foxtel box and I do not get any picture, (actually the picture and sound pops up for a fraction of a second).

Everything is connected correctly and the box is set to YUV and the cable is plugged into to TV SCART port, I have called foxtel and went through with then everything I had already done (yes I did press save settings), at this they then mentioned that I may have a faulty Settop box so we organised a TECHO' to come out (unfortunately I was not around but my family were so I can not say if he went through everything that I did) and He was unable to fix the problem he thought there may be some sort of incompatablitiy somewhere but if my LG HD tv tuner and Samsung DVD player and XBOX360 works why not the foxtel box

check ya tv manual to see if the component output from ya tv is only hd compatible..

i have 2 component outputs on my tv.. 1 is only compatible with 576p and 1080i sources. plugging the foxtel into there i get no picture coz i think the foxtel set top box outputs 576i. However, if i plug my foxtel box into my other component output with is not for hd sources it works fine

Thanks people

I unfortunately beleived that the Techo that was sent out tried everything and it was obvious he did not becasue late last night I plugged the cable intho ther lower resolution component plug and low and behold I got picture.

The only problem I was hoping to plug the box into a JOYTECH component shareing box so I did not have to change inputs everytime I switched from DVD, Xbox360 and my HD tv tuner, but at least I get a much better picture using the component cable so I am going to have to live with it.

Thanks again guys
