Hello everyone,

I'm in the market for a LCD/Plasma - and Jb Hifi are getting rid of the old stock of the Sonic 32" LCD, as a newer model is taking over. The LCD is 'HD Ready' - what does this mean? Also, is it known if a tuner is built in?

I think these are the specs of it (from another forum on this site..)

Model no.: LWD320

Type no.: 32†TFT LCD TV

Interface: LVDS ( single pixel)

Din type: Antenna (RF) in

RCA (AV in ): Composite Video / Audio in

S-Video: Y/C in

15-Pin D-sub: PC (Analog RGB)

DVI: DVI (Digital)

Now, it's on sale for $895 - but they only have one left, the display model. I'm certain I can take $100 of it, as it's the display model. Is it worth it? Or should I just save up for a newer model?

Thanks,

Also - What does HD Ready mean?

Cheers

Don't know the particular TV but it only has an analogue tuner if it says 'HD ready', which the specs confirm. HD ready means you can plug in an HD STB and get a HD picture.

No it doesn't - HD Ready only means the unit will accept a HD signal in, and depending on the resolution of the panel it may scale the input signal to it's native resolution if the panel is less than the HD standard.

Check out this thread already started in regard to HD http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=47509&hl=

Yes, but in this case the specs quote the resolution as 1280x1024. So in this case HD ready should mean it will show a HD picture, or am I missing something?
