You should see the size of the WA boys.

When I rolled up at the local "Mandurah Pirates" Rugby Club several years ago offering to help out and alluding to many years of Rugby on the East Coast I tipped the scales at 110kg.

They asked what position I played?Halfback??? :wacko::wacko::wacko:

You are right about those Aussie rules boys. ;)

Bumped into the famous "hard man" John Worsfold now coach of the Eagles recently.

Don't get me wrong,I'm sure he was a tough hombre.

But at 95kg wringing wet he'd be lucky to get a run in a Rugby side these days. :P

I played left wing in Rugby ...cos I was a good runner.....oh......and to keep me away from the action :D

....it kinda started at the weigh-in and me n Gillie ate ourselves stupid so we could get into the team.... being smaller than the rest of the guys..turned out we went into a heavier pack and were underweight all year....Gillie was alright (RIP Gillie)..he was a very good halfback and played State rep at one time......being the smallest guy in the team they kept running at me so they put me out to the wing... :(

Anyway I figured the best form of defense was attack so I worked on it and went in tackled hard....props the size of tanks......refs......ball boys...team mates.......if it moved I tackled it......low and hard.....anyway..one of these runaway tanks connected with my head one day knocking me into concussion.......

..the affects of which must linger to this very day cos thats all I remember :wacko:

I think my missus played netball too

....cant remember :blink::D

Well, I'm a 118kg ex-Rugby League Second Rower. :blush: (Rugby was for CMJT's when you were a St George junior)

I remember playing u/15's Rugby in a school knockout comp once, and the captain of the other team complained to the referee that I was wearing shoulder pads (they were illegal back then), he was a little dismayed when he discovered that I wasn't. :lol:
