indulis Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Here is an image of my Powerstrip settings to run my Panasonic 50PX600A TV at 1366x768 (well close 1368x768) at 1:1 pixel mapping (well close). VGA input. This is for my laptop with ATI video chipset. You may be able to do better with nVidia. http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?act=Att...ost&id=2878 Enjoy! PS the pana is great as a photo editing screen
digitalhome Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Interesting, I'm running Vista also connected to the same panel via VGA and running 1366x768 without and 3rd party software . I am using a 7600GT, but 1360x768, 1366x768 and 1368x768 were options already in there for me. So it was a very simple procedure to get native resolution here.
pauld Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Likewise with a nvidia 7600GS. Pity it is not 50hz, though
indulis Posted March 23, 2007 Author Posted March 23, 2007 I think (with no evidence other than my eyes), that the higher the refresh rate the less chance of seeing jerkiness. I haven't tried a 60Hz 1366x768 but at 75Hz I can't see jerkiness on pans with my PC. That's on my laptop, and I havent' done much viewing of DVDs yet. Once I pull through the VGA cable from the living room to the home theatre rack in the other room , I'll get some more experience. PS I have updated the settings slightly, to make sure the full screen is covered, the previous version missed by a few pixels. Updated Powestrip settings
Anton-P. Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Indulis, thanks for posting this up. Would you mind explaining how you got to those numbers? I tried PowerStrip once but got lost in those numbers and was too chicken to experiment in view of its warning wrong settings could stuff up my plasma screen.
indulis Posted March 23, 2007 Author Posted March 23, 2007 Would you mind explaining how you got to those numbers? ... played around with the settings for an hour or 2. Most plasmas will just refuse to sync if the number are wrong, so using my laptop I just flicked back to the inbuilt LCD, adjusted back to what worked, and kept tweaking.
Geforce Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Is there any danger of image retention on the plasma with the static images from the desktop and other pages etc ?
