My Mrs and I often go to the movies on Tuesday (tues special $9.00 in Bris) but the current crop of movies sounds appalling:

Ghost Rider: Superstar motorcycle stunt rider, Johnny Blaze strikes a deal with the vile Mephistopheles bla bla

Hot Fuzz: From the Shaun of the Dead team – a comedy about a top cop who’s sent to a small country village

Last Kiss: The Last Kiss is a contemporary comedy-drama about life, love, infidelity, forgiveness, marriage, friendship…and coming to grips with turning 30

Bla Bla Bla

No S.F, no blockbuster animations like Happy Feet, no big action stuff like Bond... sh**t I'd rather watch seven! (now in HD)

We've seen Miss Potter and The Queen, which were the best of the bunch.

Anyone know of ANYTHING worth watching coming up in the next couple of months?

Has the Bra Boys hit Brisbane yet?

Not that I condone gloryfying real life street thugs but it could be an interesting Aussie movie. Margaret gave it 4 stars

Wild Hogs ? John Travolta Marisa Tomei

Four guys from the suburbs hit the road... and the road hit back. :D

And my all time pick for 2007..coming soon to a theatre near you

Mr Beans Holiday

Hot Fuzz is reputedly v.good. And Razzle Dazzle might be worth a look. Depends really - if you like the "blockbuster" type garbage that comes out of the US, these probably won't ring your bells.

LOVE the blockbuster stuff :D actually didn't mind the Day After Tomorrow, excruciating dialogue and all, and have it on DVD. Razzle Dazzle sounds ok. Love some of the British stuff - "The Prestige" was brilliant and "Children of Men" still gives me a chill whenever I recall it.

Oh, and National Treasure was brilliant on the big screen - no sex, no swearing and only ONE henchman got killed. Remarkable.

There you go see...nothing to cry about..plenty to go and see :P

Whos a silly boy then ?

Now give us a big smile

Mr Bean sounds great, Saw "Wild Hogs" with Boy-Child while we were in Melbourne, Good for a laugh, but then again I don't mind John Travolta and reckon Tim Allen is great ..............

Generally the period between February and winter is very quiet for movies, because the Christmas holiday blockbusters are gone and Hollywood is gearing up for the megabucks Summer period. If you want your movie to make any money you generally release it during Christmas or Summer (winter down south). That's why there's a rather dry spell right now.

When the summer period starts, you get a huge number of blockbuster movies being released;

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End

Spiderman 3

Shrek the Third

Ocean's 13

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

The Simpsons

...and many more.

In little over 2 months you're in movie heaven.

Saw Hot Fuzz yesterday, funny and surprising at the same time. Good movie

I reckon those that do see it will look forward to the DVD release for home theatre viewing, the action was classic stuff...

Mello what did you do to me?

Staying with rellies in Sydney and their computer is very old and slow, went to look at the Powerhouse Museum and there's an internet room free of charge with notice "Parents please supervise children whilst on the Internet" etc...

super fast broadband, so I thought "check the forum out"

Clicked on the "be very afraid" link and up popped Mr Bean.

The room operates on Macs, which I'm not familiar with. COULDN'T CLOSE THE BLOODY WINDOW!!

about 50 schoolkids in a party approaching.

I fled to the Space Exhibition with an innocent look on my face. Hopefully the Powerhouse hasn't been in touch with the forum yet

BTW saw Bean, first time I've laughed out loud since I was on the Forum last.
