Moasaica Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Hello! I thought I'd start an interesting rivalry debate between Vega, a Sydney station & 2GO, a Central Coast station. Personally, I find 2GO to be the better of the two, even though I live near Campbelltown & am out of their licence area. At home, I do get very good reception of the station, almost as good as the Sydney commercial FM stations. 2GO's reception is at an acceptable listenable level in many parts of Sydney, depending on what radio you use. The reason I find 2GO better over Vega is that they play a better range of 80s music, as well as some 70s music that Vega & WS-FM does not play. Sometimes, they get some newer music played before it's been included on the Vega playlist, or is not being played on Vega at all. For example, the latest single by Eskimo Joe, which is titled "New York", is played on 2GO, as well as Wave FM & MIX 106.5, but Vega still doesn't play it. That song would've fit Vega's music format well. Take a look at Vega's new music playlist here. Some of the songs on that list is played on 2GO. Generally, I find that 2GO plays more old music (70s/80s) than new music, compared to Vega. Also, 2GO seemed to be more suited to the 40+ audience than Vega. What is anyone else's thoughts on this & while they're at it, can they get 2GO well on their home radio? This poll question is especially targeted to those listening in Sydney & Blue Mountains, rather than for those listening in the Central Coast.
