thomfam
I have had my Samsung 42" Plasma for 2 years now and overall it has been a great set. However it does have a lip sync problem which I can overcome with a Lip Sync adjustment on my AVR Yamaha 657 (via component). Anything running via the AVR (Austar, DVD, VCR) connects to the screen through component. I set Lip Sync to 120ms and it is great. However I have connected my FTA TV from my LG HD STB (video) directly to the Samsung via DVI and I have connected the sound to the Yamaha AVR via optical. I then have to reset the Lip Sync delay to 60 ms. I have programmed my Harmony remote to do this reasonably easily but it is a bit of a bugbear and it can't be adjusted directly between the 120ms and 60 ms. I see Panasonic HD STB's now have a Lip Sync adjustment but only have a component connection. Is there a HD STB with DVI (or HDMI) which has a Lip Sync adjustment? thomfam
After no answer from colleagues here for 4 or 5 days it appears this sort of HD STB does not exist ..... yet!
Jet1503559506
Panasonic TU-HDT105A - or at least my 104A does, so I assume the 105A does as well? Oops - I didn't notice the caveat about HDMI / DVI - sorry your search continues.... Cheers, Jet
thomfam
Thanks Jet. That's the STB I saw and looks to be a great product. Shame it is Component in this day and age! I can watch FTA either via component or DVI through my LG 4100P and I reckon I can notice a big difference in the picture quality (especially live AFL coverage) between component and DVI. DVI seems much better to me. Thanks for your reply mate.
