drvik1503559701
Can anyone shed some light on the importance or significance on the Bit Error Rate value provided by DigitalTV tuner cards.... how important is it to get a reading of 0?? What number will be tolerated before the TS stream will suffer corruptions?? drvik
joeybloggs
It depends on whether it's the BER before or after the FEC correction. If it's after then obviously the TS has an error in it. It then depends how big / long the unrecoverable error was and what packets where affected. ie did packets in the audio stream or video stream or both get hit... or if you're really lucky maybe it just glitched a teletext packet. Then again maybe it was in a stream / service that you are not watching...
