winkau Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Anyone else having trouble with the LG 5402 at start-up? When I turn the machine on, it freezes at the "Hello" message on the screen (it has me at hello!!). The power button on the front won't even turn it off! The only thing I can do is to cut the power supply to the unit by unplugging at the wall - really annoying I have alreay replaced the machine once - am I looking down the barrel again??? Tried a search on this and couldn't find anything...

How long are you waiting before turning the power off? These units take ages to boot up (maybe 30 seconds), which is why i've left mine running 24/7 for months now.
winkau Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 yeah, i realise they take ages, but this can be stuck for minutes at a time! Maybe I should try the 24/7 thing...

Taken from another thread "I did have some joy in fixing my problem. LG support advised that you can reset the unit by pressing the power button for 15 seconds". Hope it helps, if not you ought to be entitled to a refund if you keep getting lemons.

Tried the 15 second restart. No joy there. Think this one is heading back to the factory too!
