No, unfortunately Australia is the only country in the world where TV guides (EPGs) are not available to MCE or Vista owners.

This is not Microsoft's fault; it's thanks to channels Nine (mainly), Seven and Ten, who feel they're better off if you don't know what they plan to show. Be sure to write to them and let them know what you think of their stupidity.

I believe there are "pirate" options available for MCE, but someone actually using it would have to let you know.

ICE TV is the best but it's not free. The only reason they have a viable business model is because of the stupidity of certain TV stations

I refuse to pay for what should be free! This is why I use OzTivoExtreme and Blade Runner to get my free EPG :D

I also use WebGuide to access EPG from anywhere and from any device. Check it out. Apart from BladeRunner it's the other must-have software for MCE.

Blame Tel$tra, they won a court battle that set the precedent of being able to copyright "a collection of facts" (the battle was over the phone numbers in the phone book) which is the opposite to how things went in the USA and the rest of the civilized world!

The irony is that the driving force behind this ridiculous claim of "intellectual property" over TV listings was Channel Nine - the same Nine that has a partnership with Microsoft in the form on NineMSN!

I'm still amazed that Microsoft capitulated to Nine - which, essentially, is just an insignificant, lame, try-hard third-world TV network.
