franin
in regards to backward compatability( especially for games, I don't play them), why on earth would you not just use a ps2.My work colleague has a ps2 and he was waiting for the the ps3(Australian release for the backward compatability) I told him why won't you play your ps2 games on your ps2 and your ps3 games on your ps3.I know the prices of the games are going to be expensive, but is it worth consuming your laser for an old game when you can use it only for a new game.I think most people have a ps2 in there house(Not me), if it still works use the both. I think the issue with Sony's lacklustre BC implementation is that they lambasted Microsoft for only having 50% BC on the 360, whereas Sony were claiming 98% for the PS3.... And then they go and release the European/Aussie consoles and the best guess is that we might get 50% BC. Hello pot, this is the kettle calling. Andrew. Nova Phoenix
I'm still keeping my PS2 for the time being. It'll run via Component so it'll look great!
sulimo
And they could easily do that by bundling mandatory firmware upgrades with new games as per my post above about the Formula 1 game. There are hacks though already that trick any firmware check into thinking its the latest. Or so I've read.
