Tomsrockindad
HN & Clive Peters could match that price, you just need to play hardball with them. Shop around first and don't commit to anything unless they offer it to you at a cheap price. The only reason I got it from JB was I got the sony 1200ES for $650. And the JB branch was...? Did you buy the Sony (whatever it was) at the same time? Ian

nickcic
??? - I was told that when I get mine delivered it will be calibrated with an ISF calibration. you must of bought the commercial version what happens with the commercial version is the shop will install it (not pioneer), then you ring up to get it calibrated when you are ready, by a ISF tech. This is all included in the price. what happens with the domestic version (427XDA) is that pioneer install it, then it is totally up to you if you want to get it calibrated. Ring pioneer for a list of ISF tech's in your state. Cost is $250 for a basic setup up (tv and dvd). check out the 427XDA review on www.cnet.com.au to show the differences between calibrated vs non-calibrated. Tomsrockindad
I took delivery of my Pioneer 427XDA today! Extremely efficient and friendly installer spent approaching an hour making sure everything was working properly and explaining the basic controls and the warranty. Must say, I was pleasantly surprised. So then it was off to the video store to get something out to showcase the piece....and to prove to the missus it was wedge well-spent. I got out "The New World". Now forget the confused narrative and jumpy story, this was a senses-staggering piece of stunning cinematography as I've recently encountered. And, believe me, the perfect way to put a new big telly through its paces. Such amazing colour, textures, contrast and presence that you'd have to wonder why the showrooms don't use it as a demo loop. And the strong lead performances help too. So although it's tough concentration for 2.5 hrs, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the amazing movie experience... I'd seriously recommend it to anyone who's just taken delivery of a new panel. Ian. PS It's a samashing telly

Newbie7
any updated prices on the 427 in melbourne??I'm tossing up between this and the 507 ($3,800). Cheers, Simon Hi Simon, I am tossing between Panasonic X70A and the 427 myself. The best price I can get for the 427 is $3100 with same day wall installation. Can anyone suggest any better price and from where?? I'm in Melbourne inner East Where do you get the 507 price from if I may know? Good luck with your hunt Edited June 20, 2007 by Newbie7
vxexec
Where do you get the 507 price from if I may know? The price of the 507 was from a current thread on this forum - Clive Peeters in Thomastown if i'm not mistaken. Assuming the 507 is $3,800, i would have thought that the 427 would be under $3k
Newbie7
Wow! That's a good assumption if anyone can suggest a place to get it. My best is $3100 in Trevor Lees, Kew. JB Chadstone cannot do it for less than $3300, or maybe it's just my negotiation skill Another good thing about Trevor Lees is that they will install the screen on the same day. They'll do wall installation with cables coming back to my linen (where I hid my DVD-R) for no extra cost - I think this is about $100 with standard Pio installation. I am in desperate need of the screen since we need to finish the house soon (and the Missus wants to get it done before we move in) Can anyone can suggest a better price by tomorrow midday? Thx

Thx You got a good price Newbie7. I did a bit of pricing yesterday and $3,300 was the lowest that HN Thomastown would go down to. I haven't checked out the stores closer to home at DFO Essendon, but will do this week. Given such a small (relatively) price different between this and the 50" ($4k was offered without to much drama), I might just go the 50". If i don't get my arse into gear this week, I will likely wait until xmas when the new models would have been out for a little while.
