Cheapest Hdmi Switchbox Available In Aus?

Recommended Posts

What is the cheapest HDMI switchbox currently available in Australia? Joytech's Trilink HDMI Switcher won't be here until almost the end of April, and I kinda need such a device soon, because I'll have the PS3 and Phillips DTR7200 sometime soon. So...can anyone help me out?

Go to Jaycar.com.au or visit store. I am an employee, a little biased, but hdmi switches came in on Thur to our store. Cant remember price, but am sure you will be impressed. I will post more later if anyone is interested. Everything from 2 way remote control to 6 way mult-tap switching.

I will check my local Jaycar tommorow (I forgot today - DAMN!). I sort-of have to get a HDMI switch now, because I bought the Philips DTR7200 today (only two left in the HN store).

Thanks apex. $89 sounds very decent for my current use. Only have 2 HDMI-capable devices anyway: the afformentioned STB, and the soon-to-be-released PS3.

EDIT: Checked Jaycar out. They said they had no HDMI switchboxes.

Jaycar Perth had a two in 1 out, but it wasn't clear that it supported 1080P, was HDCP compliant or supported HDMI 1.3. Cost was $89.00.

I purchased a 4 in 1 out unit with remote at Harvey Norman West Perth for $250 (RRP $299), which is HDCP compliant, supports 1.3 HDMI and supports 1080p passthrough!

It's made by a South African mob (name escapes me at this point).

The belkin 4 in 1 out can be had for $320 (RRP $399)

I am selling my Gefen 4 HDMI in and 1 DVI out which is fully HDCP compliant with remote and 4 HDMI cables. It retails for about $685. Here is a link:

Gefen HDMI switch

I will be listing it on ebay in the next couple of days with a starting price of $285 plus postage. I will also list a buy it now price of $350.

This switch is very high quality like most Gefen gear. Only reason for sale is an upgrade to 4 in and 2 out gefen HDMI switch.

I'll need a HDMI switch REALLY soon now. The DTR7200 has the right firmware, and the PS3 is due out in a week. So...I kinda need one like, right now almost!

A two-to-one switch will do for the time being. I'd like one with a remote though. 1080p isn't important since my TV doesn't support it. I just need a 2-1 hdmi switch, nothing more (for now).

EDIT: What is the difference between male and female HDMI? Or is there no difference at all? I don't want connectivity problems!
