Any Info On New Denon Avr?

Hi All,

For those that are in the industry, have you had any word as to when the new Denon AVR with the new sound formats will be likely to be released here?

I was hoping to see it before the end of March as I will be down in Sydney from mid March through till the end of March. Would have been nice to pick it up whilst I was down there. I think it was slated to be the AVR-3808 but that name may have changed.

CES in September for an announcement/release would be the most probable place - then here later in the year just before Xmas.

Oh nooooo! Please let it be here before then, I have been waiting patiently for this release which last year was touted for a March/April 07 release.

i thought i read somewhere that the Sherwood was going to be the first AVR with the new sound codecs? of course that one (at CES) was only a mock-up, so i got the impression they wouldnt hit the shelves in the states until at least mid-year, meaning probably the end of the year at best for aus.

thats all just assumptions though and i hope im wrong...

I'm waiting for the 3808 too, but imagine we will be several months after a US/Europe release I'm eager to know whether the 3808 can play networked FLAC files, as I've heard it can - anyone confirm this? If it can then I can save purchasing another squeezebox and run the 3808 as a standalone unit across my CD collection... exciting stuff!
