FMB Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Check this A NEW study by German scientists of spiders' copulation techniques found that males leave part of their sex organ inside their female partner as a sort of "chastity belt" to deter rivals. Gives a whole new meaning to the expression 'Keep the tip'. After setting the tone by shaking the female's web, the male has only seconds to have sex before the larger female kills him. Not even going to comment on that bit. I'll leave that to others.
Thudd1503560234 Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 And don't a lot of male spiders get eaten, praying-mantis style, after mating? Or at best, have to be very careful not to be eaten?
BribieG Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Sounds like that Lynne from Redcliffe. Glad I moved.
