Apart from a different shape (and probably bigger battery requirement) what makes the 1000 better than the lower version please? My family is starting to get peeved at the VP30 settings change between pj and crt, sometimes it goes wrong for them and they can't get it right. I'm assuming the logitech would be able to do this too

Thats why you should use static ice http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search...?q=logitech+360 I saw the $66 price for the 360 remote the other day, and then when I went to order it and saw $33 shipping I decided against it. These go on ebay quite freqently for under $80 delivered.
djOS Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I bought my URC MX-850 from eBay also and saved about $300!

I notice shipping doesnt change for multiple units (5) so if people get together may save a few bucks. That shipping sux and I would definitely question it, if I was you. On ebay, shipping seems to be from $15 to $26 dollars (depending on your location).

anthonyc Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I've been wondering if finger marks are a problem on the Harmony 1000 model?. Foxtail, The touch screen on the 1000i is not a high gloss finished and therefore does not show up fingermarks. Also the sensitivity is about right, its just a bit more than gentle to get the touch screen to act. Also, the case is finished in a brushed metal which also hides the finger prints. However, there is a thin high gloss black finish around the touch screen and it show up finger prints.
Guest EZYHD Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I have those round drink holders in my HT recliners do you think its possible to mount the 1000 in one of those at an angle?.
anthonyc Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I have those round drink holders in my HT recliners do you think its possible to mount the 1000 in one of those at an angle?. The base unit measures W100mm x D90mm x H60mm however you need D120mm to allow for the power that plugs into the back of the unit. The unit itself is W105mm x D15mm x H140mm. Also I just held the 1000i up to the light, you can see fingerprints all over the touch screen - but is this such a big deal ? Touch screens are always going to have this issue and who's going to hold it up to the light anyway ?
SharP Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 anyone bought one of these from itestate? do they keep them in stock? if not how long does it take for them to order them in? I guess no one has received it. OK so has anyone ordered one?
Satanica Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Does anyone know the difference between the 785 and 880? Which is the later model? Any onions on which one is better? They seem to be priced similarly, thanks.

They seem to be priced similarly, thanks. 785 has 4 coloured buttons, 880 doesn't. These ra egreat for foxtel, set top boxes etc 880 has 8 function LCD screen, 785 has only 6. Though both have a next page feature, so you're not limited to only 6 or 8. aside from that, the drastic difference in design is the only difference.

Muzzer123 Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I've got the 880 and I would much prefer the 785 because of the coloured buttons. Much easier to use with Foxtel Digital
scotty79 Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 does the 1000 have a "learning" function at all, like a normal learning universal remote? or does it HAVE to be programmed by PC, from codes that logitech provides?
sold Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Pretty sure all the harmony remotes have learning ability. Codes can then be uploaded to the database for others to use as well AFAIK.
CCRider Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Pretty sure all the harmony remotes have learning ability Yes the above is true "Codes can then be uploaded to the database for others to use as well AFAIK." Codes are uploaded to your personal database on logitech website however I don't think that other users have access to these codes.
JasonV Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 I'm pretty sure that this pronto is just a re-badged logitech 1000.....just alot cheaper! http://cgi.ebay.com/SEALED-PHILIPS-PRONTO-...1QQcmdZViewItem
scotty79 Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 nearly $200 USD for a reburbished (IE not new) unit plus shipping out here not to mention no local warranty is not "alot" cheaper in my book, if the 1000 can be had for about $400 AUD.

Codes are uploaded to your personal database on logitech website however I don't think that other users have access to these codes. its an older pronto model... they brought it in last year... didn't sell well for the 'pronto' crowd since you can't customise it like you can the pronto... and they stopped making it... so its excess stock which they are selling... its a top remote thoough, with in-built wifi and music streaming abilities... so a little more capable then the harmony, however even though its easy to use, its not as easy to set up as the harmony .... they look so similar I wouldn't be surprised if philips sold the 'mold' to harmony... since Harmony has a much better platform for what philips wanted to do in the first place.... easy to set up and easy to use remote..... the pronto range is extremely customisable and I love mine... but I wouldn't call it easy to set up ...

This looks new to me. I could be wrong though. WiFi & MP3 playback is a nice option to have. Also, it does have international warranty, i called Philips Australia today and they said it is covered. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SEALED-PHILIPS-RC98...VQQcmdZViewItem
