The_Preacher1973 Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Here's a bit of nostalgia for those of you that have been around for a couple of years. Just came across this post in the HD1 users thread over on the av forums in the UK: It's like Deja Vu All Over Again Take it out of your Brit bedsit and stick it on a screen that looks like film instead of your 84" postage stamp that even a 15 year old CRT could light up.Why bother - that's not film - it's not immersive and even a Panasonic PTAX100 looks good new. Secondly test black ;ie total abscence of light - play the deep sea scene from Nemo and tell us is your screen lit or not. If it is, move on nothing new here. Another deeply flawed display that can't render the image accurately. Last; quit the fan-boy behaviour and look objectively at its performance; so far it's noisy, it can't do blackout, out of the box it needs calibration (still) and the biggest excitement for newbies to projection is it offers convergance controls...good grief! Yup - another short term fan-boy projector that will soon line up alongside the Sony Ruby as a; "Now remind me what we were all so excited about.." display device. Next! It was even posted under the name Mojo Man! Wanna bet it's our old Kiwi mate Max?
betty boop Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 oh boy who let him out hte cage again. preach maybe you need to head over there and enlighten them of his antics that he got up to on our forum here before gettign booted to kingdom come !
AndrewW Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 sure sounds like our little troll. Although no mention of perforated screens ... Andrew.
Foggy Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 The moderator over there (UrbanT) didn't waste any time in recognising Max's trolling abilities and banned him pretty quickly. Great find Preach... many fond memories there! I've banned the account as there was a clear purpose to do nothing but post abuse, and troll If the account re-registers, I'll just keep banning, its only 2 clicks of the mouse Lets ignore the outburst and return to the topic I think Max has a drinking problem, he should not be allowed to drink and operate a computer in the same evening.

The_Preacher1973 Posted March 4, 2007 Author Posted March 4, 2007 Although no mention of perforated screens ... Ahh, that brings back memories! I wonder how his 800x600 Cine6 is handling Hd-DVD/Blu Ray?
digitalj Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 His IP can be banned very easily, and that would be the end of him.
Guest EZYHD Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 sure sounds like our little troll.Although no mention of perforated screens ... Andrew. Oh' Perfed screens hope not.

ajm1503559545 Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Have you ever know a bloke so wound up and bitter? Clearly Max needs to find an inner happy place. I wish him a speedy recovery once he does get the help he needs.
c912039 Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Actually, in a peverse way, I sort of miss him.... He added that spark of entertainment insanity, to spice up the forum now and then. He was tollerable in small doses...
AndrewW Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Actually, in a peverse way, I sort of miss him.... He added that spark of entertainment insanity, to spice up the forum now and then. He was tollerable in small doses... And the trolls of today could learn a lesson or two from old Max. Andrew.
norpus Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Actually, in a peverse way, I sort of miss him.... He added that spark of entertainment insanity, to spice up the forum now and then. He was tollerable in small doses... hehe, no. he was just a pain. Which is a shame as he actually had a bitter bit of experience and in hindsight was pointing us in a reasoned direction (eg perf screens do have some realism benefits - I note now many high end US home/theatres use them, high power screens for non-light cannons and older lamps (and perf loses 10%), and lamp lumen loss considerations). The threads he raised I can now see this more clearly that he had some valid points - trouble was he was always trying to sucker people down a false path and then stomp on them like a ba$tard. For that I do not miss him or the angst he caused (which was his sad motivation)
djOS Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Have you fellas noticed HiJox poking his head out of his tar pit over the last couple of days? He's even (by Troll Standards) been behaving himself!

He's even (by Troll Standards) been behaving himself! I had indeed ... and when reading this thread's title I mistakenly thought he was the subject. However, yes, he has been behaving himself. Funny memories indeed!

HugeHoax is alright, his trolling is always in jest... and at least he's got some technical knowledge to back it up, unlike some of the more recent toothless trolls.

He was tollerable in small doses... Well I think I could take up that mantle if you like. I sometimes find it difficult to keep the inner troll caged. Hell, last week I even referred to digital PJ's as flashlights.

Hell, last week I even referred to digital PJ's as flashlights. Yes, I had noticed that... although, you will need to get some practise in, over at Curt Palme's forum, to really polish up the skills in insulting digital projectors and their owners.
Mr.Bitey Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 :Puts Troll Spoon, and Troll Horn away: Aww - you guys got me all excited and now im let down a little I think our old pal maxcat has finally fallen through the perforations of sanity! Maybe years of 'abuse' in his HT 'chair' with his ass bass shakers finally gave him 'shaken baby syndrome' and rattled all the juice out his brain. Cheers, Bitey
