Maverick Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Well I have now set up my new Klipsch RS-35's and RS-25's and I have to say that they have completely transformed my HT. These speakers working together as I have them have brought a whole new depth of aural presence to my sound field. Even my wife, who was completely ambivalent about them, now thinks they are the best thing I have purchased in a long time for the HT. We watched a movie tonight that had a guitar being plucked as a side sound in one scene and we could swear that there was someone sitting off to our right plucking the strings of a guitar, the sound was so dynamic and full bodied it was amazing. I cannot wait to get my hands on the new Denon AVR-3808 and match it up with these little beauties.
johnn1503560523 Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 These are neither the Synergy nor the reference series that I checked from the distributor.. http://www.internationaldynamics.com.au/ What are they and where did you get from. I have been trying to trace down a Reference series shop here and I have been unable to.
Maverick Posted March 4, 2007 Author Posted March 4, 2007 These are neither the Synergy nor the reference series that I checked from the distributor..http://www.internationaldynamics.com.au/ What are they and where did you get from. I have been trying to trace down a Reference series shop here and I have been unable to. I obtained them from a Grays auction in February. They listed them as coming from a failed HT business so I really have no way of knowing where they came from. The RS-25's were brand new still sealed in their boxes the RS-35's were listed as demo models and had some minor cosmetic scratch damage which I can more than live with. They are really beautiful to hear, I am amazed that they perform so well. The only place I have found them listed on the net in Aust is at Audio Trends and I was extremely fortunate to get these speakers at a greatly reduced price.

Maverick Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Well my RF-35's that I thought were lost in shipping and never to be seen arrived at my house today. I just spent the last hour integrating them into my setup and listening to them. WOW! These are a damn fine speaker, now I see why they received such glowing reviews in the US. To say they leave my Accusounds in their dust is an understatement. I know these are superceded models but they are still new in the box and built like the proverbial brick sh.thouse. They weigh a ton, even the delivery guy was amazed when I told him there was only two speakers in the carton cause he remarked about how heavy the box was. Even with the two of us lifting it we were struggling. I would say they easily individually weigh twice the weight of the Accusound equivalent speaker.
SDL Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 I also have the RS-25 and they provide brilliant surround speakers. I might pick up some newer model like RS-52 if our proposed move ever happens into a house with enough room to set up 7.1. Right now looking for a new centre though - RC35 has been replaced but wondering whether I can get one cheap somewhere.
Adam-O Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Hey Mav, what did you pay for your RF-35s? I bought a pair a few months ago for $1200 brand new. The dealer was willing to do them cheap because they were the last he had in stock of that model (as others have said, they've been superseded now). I think it was a pretty good price, but I'm curious what others here think. Like you, I'm really impressed with these speakers. Most importantly they sound awesome -- I quite like the horn-loaded tweeters. But also, they are constructed extremely robustly. Or, as you said, "built like a brick sh*t-house" Adam
johnn1503560523 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Adam, You know what retailers stock the Reference series? HN only do the Synergys and by all reviews they are not that good.
SDL Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Where are you John? In Melbourne Intersound and AudioTrends stock reference.

I love their sound quality, I am sure that I would be blown away by other more expensive speakers but for the money these speakers are fantastic.
