smithcorp Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Hi all I have connected my PC to my Panasonic Tx-32lxd600a TV, with a VGA to VGA cable and separate audio splitter cable. The TV is set up as the second monitor on my PC (through a Geforce 7600GS), set up at 1024x768 @85hz, as indicated in the TV's manual. The TV will display my PC's desktop background, but not the icons, or anything I play on the pC. Anyone had this experience, or know what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it? All answers gratefully received. smith
smithcorp Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 Whoops - I posted too early. I used the NVidia control panel to set the PC and TV as clones, so now i can see desktop icons on my TV. However, now any video that plays on my PC, fails to display on the TV. The player is displayed, but the content is black and there's no sound. Any advice please?

You are probably using overlay for video and this will only show on the primary monitor. Set the TV as primary and it should work. Not sure about sound, are you sure it is plugged into the correct PC output? It the volume up on PC and TV?

Thanks for your advice - I disabled overlay in the media player I was using and that fixed it. And the sound turned out to be ridiculously simple - I had it set for headphones! It's all great now.
