Hydrology Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Copied from DVDTimes.co.uk:- Citing technical difficulties Fox and MGM Home Entertainment have revised their Blu-ray Disc release schedules for March and April, with all but two titles now postponed to as yet unknown future dates. The titles which remain on schedule and will appear on 13th March 2007 are Hoosiers and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The titles no longer set to appear in March are: Dances with Wolves, The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), Ice Age, Dodgeball and Commando. The fate of From Hell (which was rescheduled for March) is also unknown at this time. The full April slate has been removed from the schedule, which includes: Dude, Where’s My Car?, The Fly (1986), Me, Myself and Irene, Tristan & Isolde, Hannibal and Silence of the Lambs. New release Turistas is also off the schedule. Original specs for these titles can be found here, with details on Turistas here. All titles are still expected to appear on Blu-ray Disc at some point this year, with a revised schedule for April expected soon.
betty boop Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 does this mean this thread needs to be 'pulled' as well now ? http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=46547
AndrewW Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 does this mean this thread needs to be 'pulled' as well now ?http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=46547 shhhh, Al, the trolls seem to be sleeping. best not to wake them up Andrew.
mattis Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Wonder what the technical issues are....maybe they won't play properly on some/all of the BD players Matt
IanD1503559705 Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Wonder what the technical issues are....maybe they won't play properly on some/all of the BD players My money is on the implementation of BD+ and other decrypting countermeasures post AnyDVD HD and BackupBluRay. It's interesting they pulled blockbusters and left not so popular movies: I guess they had to leave something.
Skid_MacMarx Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I thought you mention there was a delay with Iceage etc. before Mark...this appears to be old news ,,, Al, I agree all these BD release notices could have been placed in the official BD software thread. http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=45329

Skid_MacMarx Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 so now "you" have confused "me" its all crazy isn't it... ideally all the BD release news should be in the BD software section you've set up ....
AndrewW Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 ideally all the BD release news should be in the BD software section you've set up .... actually the description of that thread is: Owners opinions/views/questions I thought it's purpose was mainly for reviewing released titles. Andrew.

Andrew. Just there have been complaints about the number of new threads starting... would momaw mind if it incorporated BD release news as well.. (personally, I don't think he would mind).. anyway just an idea
momaw Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Just there have been complaints about the number of new threads starting... would momaw mind if it incorporated BD release news as well.. (personally, I don't think he would mind).. anyway just an idea Hey I don't "own" the thread (I might take that other one I started though ) so feel free to put anything you want in it. I think most threads are pretty well self-mod'd by participants. I think new threads are great. They can kickstart stagnant conversation where things may have changed in recent times or draw in new participants. I only have a problem with new threads that don't serve a point or are after a quick question answered when there is an existing sticky for those queries or are just there for the purposes of antagonisation. If you want to ask a question and then discuss it, new thread away, but hit and run questions just waste space. These are only my opinions and in no way reflect any board policies or moderator policies.
Hydrology Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 Just there have been complaints about the number of new threads starting... You right, there have been people complaining before about all these threads, I am one of them! However seeing as the shoe is on the other foot and certain posters in this thread dont mind starting BR related threads or negative HD-DVD threads, I think all rules are out the window. There are plenty of threads started which could be part of the pinned topics, but why should certain people do what they want but impose rules on others?
