butterfingers Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 bout time to start this thread i think. a few people own them now, and a few have had them for several months. so there should be plenty of info around about them now. cya's after
butterfingers Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 the footy looks good. i saw some of the v8 supercars at half time to and there wasnt any problem with fast moving objects. i think the tennis would be a good test for that maybee. also, i couldnt seem to get a hd channel 7. does it exist? can get a hd channel for each of the other stations, but not 7. the stb panel display tells me its SD no matter what channel 7 station i select. i will watch the footy tommorow night on 10 to check this again. p.s. ch7 also looked better through component, rather than hdmi. i am guessing this is due to the no-HD on 7. will check this on other channels tonight.
butterfingers Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 v8 supercars looked fine on 7 today. the footbal really did look better on ch10, compared to what i watched on ch7. at least the F1's are on ch10 . what will happen on melbourne GP weekend, with the tv coverage? ch10 may make no mention of the v8 races, because they are on ch7, and like wise ch7 may ignore the F1's even though it is at the same event? also, as far as i can tell on this tv, blacks are BLACK... not grey. and i am not colorblind or anything
boric Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 what will happen on melbourne GP weekend, with the tv coverage? ch10 may make no mention of the v8 races, because they are on ch7, and like wise ch7 may ignore the F1's even though it is at the same event? The V8s are not at the Grand Prix this year. So no issues.
cjason Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 no v8's = no crowd. good luck to the organisers for next year!
butterfingers Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 was it mainly because of the tv rights going to ch7? or was that just coincidental? seems like more coverage by seven, i wish they would go HD though. it makes a HUGE difference. it did with the footy.
wheelz Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 i wish they would go HD though. it makes a HUGE difference. it did with the footy. The footy on ch10 isnt HD yet,not until the main season starts and only on Sat night game, all other games you watch on 10HD are SD upconverted. PS.If you were refering to the one HD footy game televised in HD a year or 2 ago from sydneys telstra stadium then i appologise.
butterfingers Posted March 4, 2007 Author Posted March 4, 2007 actually, i was meaning saturdays match. i honestly think that tens broadcast looked so much better than sevens. i noticed with 7HD today, there WAS a 7HD channel till about 12:30pm, then it switched off and went back to sd signal for the v8's then back to HD at about 6pm?!?! checked with a freind who has a sony HD stb also, and the same happened to him. must still b upgrading their cameras for live programs or something. am investing in component cable for xbox today, so i can have big screen xbox, with tv in smaller picture with PIP. cant wait for that one original xbox actually looks pretty darn good through this tv via a/v leads. component should be great. also look forward to trying out X360 with it.
butterfingers Posted March 4, 2007 Author Posted March 4, 2007 ran it for 48 hours. i though i would while its still gonna be easy to return if anything goes wrong. all seemed ok afterwards. wasnt any warmer than usual or acting weird in any way at all. (BIGW warranties are the BEST). and i dont even work there, just am a customer
