pgudge Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Quite big story, Virgin wont pay the fee Sky are asking, so the 3million+ viewers loose Sky One. http://www.dmwmedia.com/news/2007/03/01/u-...-basic-channels
Timmy Downawell Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Yeah I was reading about this yesterday. Aparantly Sky tried to double the price they had been charging Virgin, then reduced that to a 30% increase. Virgin refused and ended up losing the channels.
half pint Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 and for a while in place of Sky news Virgin media customers were greeted with the message "Sky snooze, try the BBC" more info here
pgudge Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 LOL, I dont have cable so not seen, but that is funny. Sky News and Sky Sports News aren't that good anyway, the only "good" thing Cable viewers have lost is SkyOne. But now Virgin are uping Broadband users from 4mb to 10mb and 10mb to 20mb, probably so they can download all the Sky One TV shows off the net

Sky One hasn't been a great channel for many years, back in it's day it had many good programmes, but as it got into the mid 1990s it lost its way.
