Maverick
up to $6,500 so i guess they will sell. They have been wanting between $12K and $15K for these for a long time, may be they have just decided to take what they can get. Edit: Take a look at the bidder stats on the bidders page, I reckon shill bidding at its finest going on there.
anotherdavid
They were previously being sold at a "buy it now" price quite a few times, but looks like they've handed them over for Trevor Lees to sell on "consignment" Great Speakers in the right room - beatifully made cabinets. betty boop
~Edit: Take a look at the bidder stats on the bidders page, I reckon shill bidding at its finest going on there. thats what typically happens with this ebayers sales. very strange bidding. expect it to go for a fair sum. his stuff usually does. they are still a sensational speaker that someone is goign to get for an altime bargain. yes they look like some real old timers but have an outstandign sound. but theyre massive, I couldnt fit a pair in my loungeroom thats for sure
norpus
where's spearmint - he's after some new speakers and these would look sensational in his room - even the right colour and size to match his other gear

Jliang70
Wow i find it interesting that these speakers are worth so much. Which current model speakers would these stack up well against? These speakers are huge and I heard a pair of these speakers back in the early 1990s hooked up to Accuphase pre-power combo, the sound is amazing but they are not suitable for average size room. spoco2
Man, I really would hope they sound good as to my eyes they look every bit the 1980s era. Horrible. Are they just one driver? Bizarre to think that they could sound so good. But then I'm not someone who'd ever spend that much on a pair of speakers.
Maton
plent of people spend a lot more than that on speakers

cineboy
They have been trying to flogg these for ages on ebay, I doubt that too many people would want them in their lounge room or HT room either. I plan a HT speaker upgrade later this year and thinking about the Tannoy home range, mainly because I work in a recording studio from time to time and we monitor via various size Tannoys and they all sound pretty damned good). ...But OMG...!! These speakers are "turn you to stone" ugly! ...Perhaps OK for an HT room if hidden behind an accoustically transparent screen! LOL!

cwt
These speakers would be a good match with Macintosh amplification - at least aesthetically One reason mac amps are still around is because people like the retro 60's look [knobs/ potentiometers and v/u meters] and built like a brick .... Keith_W
Is this the new series Al? explains why the Tannoys have been on Greys getting flogged off. The Dimension series does not replace the Prestige series. Dimension might have the dual concentric driver and the supertweeter, but there is no built-in horn loading in the cabinets. The Prestige series have better drivers and more complex cabinets. And the fuddy-duddy looks.
