What Is A Toppy 5000 - 120g Worth Second-hand?

Hi everyone

I have a chance at getting a Toppy 5000 for about $400 - second-hand, 120 Gig. I've heard of the 160Gig Masterpiece being obtained for around the high $500's..........

$400 is a good price range for me - high 5's is not.

Decent price or not worth is due to use and lack of warranty. How much are people getting the non-Masterpiece one new for?

There's a 120GB one for auction on Ebay - with seven hours left it's on $350 on one bid at time of posting. (NB I'm not associated with that at all)

Maybe see what that goes for to give you an idea.

Tis a good price for a top notch PVR. You'd have to be pretty lucky to find one for less else where. You can always up the drive size in a year or so if you want ($100 buys you a 300Gb drive). Check out the AQA (pinned) for some TIPs to get you started.

It's a completely different remote control. But I assume you meant the 7000 and classic silver 5000 use the same code?

I'm assuming that people looking for a cheap second hand Toppy are not in the market for the $1200+ HD version So probably not an issue this time around.

I bought mine on ebay before Christmas - the one that went for $481 was a very good deal (unless it was silly price postage), when I was looking/ buying everything was 550+. So I'd definitely buy it for 400 bucks.
