Gus
I've had a real struggle to find a good quality SCART-to-SCART cable beyond the standard 1.5 metres. Does anyone out there know where I can get one in Sydney. Ideal length is 4m, although I suspect I'll have to live with 5m. I've tried the usual suspects: Jaycar, DSE/Tandy, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys. There's the odd seller on ebay, usually offshore, but the information is scant and I'm reluctant to try my chances. I've located 2 brands that are affordable, so if anyone has experience with them I'd love to hear about it. They are Ixos and Lindy: http://www.encelstereo.com.au/encel/Brand03pop.asp?id=293 https://www.lindy.com.au/online/arrshop.exe...&ai=1327508 or https://www.lindy.com.au/online/arrshop.exe...&ai=1327508 Another brand, TST Europe, exists, but is very, very expensive. Also, assuming the quality is good (OFC, shielded, etc) is there a maximum length before acceptable signal quality degrades with SCARTs? Thanks for any info! jakes
You will find many people use and recommend this placehttp://www.htcustomcables.com/ Except that they don't seem to offer any scart cables - even short ones. The Lindy cables are pretty good as far as I know. I have a 10m VGA cable from them - it's extremely solid, quality connectors, and works without problems. I assume their scart cable should be of similar quality. I don't know about the Ixos cables but a quick search for Lindy on this board shows that people generally have good stuff to say about their products. jdh500
I have a quality 3m and 1.5m scart cable I'm no longer using, I'm happy to offer them to you for $10 each if interested and are of any help. I think from memory they cost about $35 ea from a local hifi store (Eastwood HiFi). Otherwise I can probably find out what the brand was and you can buy it their new, they may have 4 m lengths but this sounds like an odd size. JDH.
