kiwigene Posted February 24, 2007 Share Posted February 24, 2007 I've done some searching but had no luck on what I'm calling "white flare". I'm not sure if this is the correct term - but I'm looking for the best way to reduce this on an LCD display. It seems to be most notable on faces, foreheads and bald heads (the skin). It's like a reflection from lighting, and causes the area to be all washed out and very white. Are there any simple settings that can be used to help reduce this? Thanks for the reply. I guess what I should have said was "Are there any simple settings, other than the bleeding obvious such as turning the brightness down" which I have already done. The problem with turning the brightness down is that everything else is also affected. I will check out a THX DVD and see if that helps. The THX optimiser will tell you how to make the necessary adjustments to give you a 99% correctly calibrated image using a MarkI EyeBall - just read the on-screen instructions and you'll be fine.
