bagman Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Hi there I'm wondering if any users of either the Pioneer DVR-645HS or the Panasonic DMR-EX85 or EH65 can confirm if you are able to watch a DVD whilst recording to the HDD. I seem to recall reading that it is not possible with the Panasonic but not sure about the Pioneer. Again, any confirmation of that would be appreciated cheers UPDATE: amazing what you can find using the search function of this forum !! Answered my own question. It appears you can watch a DVD and record to HDD provided both are using the same format. i.e. can't watch a NTSC DVDV whilst recoding PAL TV program. I still have one question though. If I already own a HDD STB and have an Optus STB, what benefit is there in buying the Panasonic with intergrated digital tuner as opposed to the one wiithout.
