Travesso
Ok, there may be a really simple answer to this, but I am not seeing it. I got my Panasonic plasma the other night and tried it out with a Smashing Pumpkins DVD (PAL) plugged into a component input (playing from a Conia M250). The picture looked great in the menus, better than I ever expected, however when the video played, a yellow film camera logo appeared on the screen on the upper left corner. I've never seen this before and I played around with the dvd player and tv and couldnt get rid of it. Messing around with the settings on the tv and dvd (pressing every button on both remotes!) didnt help, but the symbol has never appeared on either of my other tvs with that dvd and player so it seems to be displayed by the plasma and not the DVD player. I have watched 2 other DVDs on the screen in the same manner and no camera appears, only on the Smashing Pumpkins one.... Any ideas?? PS, sorry for the long post but I wanted to cover all bases. jakes
Any ideas?? It might indicate that there are multiple angles that you can view. Most DVDs don't have these, hence the reason you've never seen it before, but a music video sounds like the sort of thing that mught have such a feature. Is there an 'angle' button or similar on remote that you can test with? Of course I could be completely wrong...

Besides, it doesnt appear with the same DVD and player on either of my other tvs. It only appeared on the plasma.... very weird...

That is a bit odd, but would seem to indicate that it's an osd symbol on the plasma, and not the dvd player. But if neither of the remotes do anything when you press all the buttons, then I'm not sure what you can do (short of reading the manuals for both and seeing if there's reference to anything similar). Or ignoring it
Travesso
Or ignoring it hehhe... well for the first night with the plasma I did just ignore it, cuz the panasonic manual or website dont mention anything about OSD symbols and meanings so for now Im just left wondering. I'll see if any of my other DVDs do it, but so far its only been on the Pumpkins one.
MartinX
As said before, I have seen it on multi angle DVDs. Does the DVDs cover make mention of multi-angle features?
Travesso
As said before, I have seen it on multi angle DVDs. Does the DVDs cover make mention of multi-angle features? Nope. Its only a collection of filmclips. No other angles. Pressing the angle button on the DVD remote just brings up "1/1" on the screen indicating only 1 angle... The plot thickens Actually I'll try a Jamiroquai DVD that I have that I know has multiple angles in it and see if it appears... Keep u posted...
