Samsung 46 Inch La46f71bx.

Recommended Posts

I have been keeping my EYE on this TV and pretty much want to get it when the price droped under 4 grand and I have seen people buying it at harvey Norman mega Centers at 4 grand, so the under 4 grand aint far off

I was wanting some feedback from people who own the 46inch version and their feedback on picture quality mainly if you have a HTPC setup via DVIto HDMI., or one of the setups that allow 1:1 pixel mapping. I know you shoudl get a better picture with the 1.1 and the best picture with HDMI i belive if you have 1.1. Though I think you need the firmware update to do that from a DVI to HDMI Conection.

How is the New firmware comign for this TV is itout and how do I install it. I heard you need to get a special cable from Samsung.

The nly review i found was from this place. It seemed pretty in depth and pretty much said if your wanting to us eit for a PC monitor look elsewhere, though I don't know ifits a good review or not. Thats why i want first hand coments :D

I have alot of HD stuff and woudl love to try it out on a real TV and a HTPC with HD tuner all ready to crank out the REAL HD.

Let me know if you think this Tv is worth it or any problems.

Oh if i do buy it from Harvey Norman Mega Centre I would think they deliver and what is their warranty and Pixel policy ect. if the LCD has bad pixes will they come and pick it up and deliver a replacment ??

Thanks all.

May the HD be with you :P

I have it as a monitor on a HTPC. It's very good. There is a firmware update going around to give 1:1 mapping through HDMI. I believe that a sumsung (or equivilent) rep comes out to install the firmware update.

There aren't too many other problems. I am very happy with my purchase. Some of the 1080p stuff that I have downloaded looks amazing. And Channel 9 HD is very nice.

I don't know about the pixel policy.

I paid 4 grand at Harvey Norman so I know that you can get the price you want. I hope this helps.

A little more infomations please

Can you read the review of the TV i posted and tell me if you see anything like they said in the review. I'am not sure if what the review said had anything about the 1:1 Pixel mapping or not.

Also can you tell me if you have the firmware update and if so how about did you go about getting it ??

Picture quality for SD and HD and DVD and HD HTPC viewing feedback would be nice and genral PC usage like typeing the response to this :D

Also just wondering if the TV had a remote that had Serperate buttons for each input and how many inputs it has. My Current Tv has one button you have to scroll though inputs, GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I was wondering what Video mods PIP works in. I was thikning of using the HDMI conection on the TV as it's supposed to be the best.

Thanks for the Reply, just reply some more please :P

Thanks.

Considering in other threads people can get the 40" version for around $2800, is it worth around $1200 for and extra 6"?

YES IT IS.

Comeing from an 86cm HD crt WS TV, I think srimping on the size would not be a good thing, and 46incher is awsome for my HTPC

Thanks.

And I have been saving up, for the right TV :D

I would have to agree, size does matter and IS worth paying for.

It 46” is good, just imagine how much better 60” is.

You can get a 60” SXRD for $4500-$4700.

If size matter that much, may be for around $4700 you can get a nice Infocus projector with a nice motorise 110" WS screen. :D

I guess there is always arguement about the resolution, but the extra 64" is worth it.

Projector wont work for me as I prety much will have it on 8 hours a day or more. 46inches is MORe than enough and a realy want a flat TV that I can IF I want install it on the wall :P

1920by1080p Resolution IS a big plus as well, any projectors do that yet, that don't cost 100 grand

I was thinking of rining up harvey Normal mega Centre in my area and asking if they had one setup in the 46inch model just to have a look. I hear it can be had for 4 grand, my local Jb Hi fi CAN't match that, best they could do was 5,100 something !!!!!

Any more coments n the TV are very welcomed. IS this TV as good as a Normal PC monitor LCD in terms of picture quality ???

Also the gameing mod eon the TV how does that work and how does it look in games ??

Byes all.
