The launch of the new high def [hanadycam] models also coincides with the release of a range of new standard definition hard disk drive and DVD recorders, if you're looking for a lower price point.

Latest Retravision Catalogue has Sony 160GB TWIN TUNER DVD Recorder with HDMI connection. $999, and probably SD digital tuners.

Checked Sony Website - no details yet

Catalogue not up on Retravision website yet.

If this is for real, this maybe the interim solution for PVR/DVD needs

It wouldn't be one SD tuner and one analogue by any chance? In which case it's the same as the others already on the market.

Could be another false start but latest Bing Lee Catalogue (page 14) has a new Sony DVD recorder with 250GB HDD and built in Digital tuner for $699 with no repayments until 2009 - must be another bl##dy misprint

Bing Lee September catalogue

Indeed it's a typo and it's only got 160Gb and it's the RDRHXD760S which has been available for quite some time.

When I saw 250Gb I was hoping it was the new RDR-HXD970 which has been available in the UK for a couple of months.
