Just got a new supernet 8000t-pvr to put in another room.

I bought this because i have 2 digicrystal 9000 pvr's and these are the same..

Anyone (PC Pro?...) know if gdrguy's firmware will work on this box. It worked on my digicrystals but they were the older model and I know it didn't work on the newer ones..

I'm not really that bothered about it but i'd like to make them all the same...and if it doesn't work, can i revert to the current firmware...

Current is STOBS E/3.41 2006-06-10 (jun 06)

Cheers

If it's the regular single tuner version (not familiar with the Supernet model numbers) alternate firmware from Digicrystal will work, the large hard drive firmware doesn't work on the newer boxes though, there was talk of a newer version that could work on these boxes but I don't know that it ever ended up working out.

Thanks..Yes it's the single tuner, same as the digicrystal and also the wintal x10..

Is there any problem reverting to the original (or genuine) firmware if i tried to flash it with the hacked version??

From my experience they are very robust, almost impossible to kill from dud firmware, you should have no problem loading any of the versions

I have had each one of these (digi 9000, x10, x10A, supernet 8000t) at one time or another. I have also tried just about all the firmwares ever written for them. I only have one left these days and chose the wintal x10a to keep. I run it with the Digenius P/3.41 code since I found it best. Apart from that the real reason I chose the x10a was because of the remote response. It seemed alittle more precise than the others but not much between them really. My 2c worth.

  • 3 weeks later...

hey guys

I cant make new threads yet so I thought I'll ask my question here.

I have bought the 8000T-PVR and so far it works ok ... my questions are :

1. When I plug in the antenna cable into the wall I get contact glitching and freezing on channels 7 and 10, but channel 9 works perfectly. When I take the antenna out, so its just a coax cable connected to the Supernet, channels 7 and 10 work perfectly but channel 9 is freezing all the time ...

any thoughts?

2. When I want to use the pause while watching a channel feature, so its recording in background, when I play play again, it shows the recorded video but no sound ??? I can see its still recording of course and I can pause again etc etc but when I press play to resume from where it was , there is no sound at all, just picture ...

any thoughts?

thank you
