Australian Prime Minster John Howard, fresh from a war of words with Democratic hopeful Barak Obama over the war in Iraq and Obamas policies, has weighed into a different kind of debate today and thrown his support behind Sonys BluRay camp.

It seems Mr Howard is no stranger to controversy and was eager to point out that there was a link between HD DVD and Alqueda.

"Well I cant disclose my sources but I have it on releiable information is all I can say at the moment." he said.

"You only have to look at HD DVD and its method of mass construction" was one of the more confusing statements made by the Prime Minister.

"I think Alqueda will circle in March 31 2007 as a red letter day for them and anyone who buys a Playstation on that day will be helping the fight against terrorism" Mr Howard said at a Canberra press conference today.

When questioned about his sources Mr Howard went on to say he based his decisions on "reliable sources" and a recurring pain he gets in a bunyon on his right toe.

"Left pinky..commies twinkly, right toe....all systems go" was all he seemed to mutter when pressed for details.

He added "A sale for HD DVD is a bullet for Alqueda and I call on the Opposition Leader to state his policy on the matter "

Sony declined to comment

This thread will probably be quoted as further evidence of BD victory in a forum in Smolensk...

The Smolensk HD Forum is abuzz with this news! But this news is being overshadowed by the upcomming release of the next gen console, Atari 2600. Debate is raging as to whether it is packaged with composite cables :D

Is this true or a joke. How could there possibly be a link between HD DVD and Alqueda. If this is a true statement i think it's further confirmation that Howard has lost his marbles. :D
