CCRider
My brother has ordered a pair of DCX's front rears and centre from VAF and it has been 5 months and nothing has been delivered. He keeps getting a story from them that they are experiencing production difficulties in getting the speaker boxes from their South Aussie cabinet maker. I am wondering if other forum members are experiencing the similar with orders from this company?

Are they paid for? If so he should be refunded straight away till they can supply.
CCRider
Are they paid for?If so he should be refunded straight away till they can supply. VAF requires 20% deposit to go ahead with the order. So this is his only outlay.
hifi007
Sure 20% is fair but the wait of 5mths is just short of criminal and I would never have let it go beyond 1 - 1.5mths. Fair Trading has laws on this for retailers and VAF is doing themselves great harm to their rep by allowing money to change hands when such long delays are occurring. They are mail order only so IMO superior service would be vital to keep customers knocking on their door

I am starting to suspect that they are putting their mail order clients in priority to those who walk in from the front door(like my bro) . This is why I have put this questions to forum members who have recently ordered speakers from VAF as to whether they have had "delivery of product issues". With them
Glider
Thanks for your reply.I am starting to suspect that they are putting their mail order clients in priority to those who walk in from the front door(like my bro) . This is why I have put this questions to forum members who have recently ordered speakers from VAF as to whether they have had "delivery of product issues". With them I bought some VAF DCX speakers some years back and they were delivered to my door three days after payment was made. Five months is a joke! I don't think they could have so many interstate clients that a local purchaser would be left swinging for so long. There must be other issues involved. Time for a personal visit. Ask for immediate delivery, even if they have to use their floor stock. Otherwise an instant refund is due. I wouldn't have waited this long! AndrewWilliams
Yes, I'm in Queensland and my speakers arrived on my doorstep 2 days after I placed the order with VAF. Maybe he should ask for a refund of the deposit. They're a reasonable company. I doubt they'd have any hesitation in refunding the deposit. That said, unless he needs something fairly urgently, they're worth waiting for!

Hi Andrew How long ago was that? Anyway I have some good news to report. Phoned VAF this afternoon and we spoke to Phil Vafiadis about the problem. Phil and Simon have been O/S promoting amongst others the new Octavio for the microsoft ZUNE. Phil was very apologetic about the whole affair and after putting us on hold he came back to say that he personally gaurantees that the units will be available in the next few days fully assembled and delivered at no cost.(bought as kit form originally) And yes they are worth waiting for as I have a complete set with the customised dcx7 centre. It seems that the old storyof going straight to the top still works a treat. It seems that the saleperson who was giving my bro the run around had some explaining to do.
