vidkid
Hi just wanted to pose a query.. if I'm using my HTPC with it's inbuilt DVD Player/Rcrdr & Geforce 6600LE video card with relevant drivers and with this playing back a normal DVD, when I have my LCD panel attached via DVI > HDMI, isn't a form of upscaling being done? ..given I can set the driver under XP to output 720P or 1080i ? then the LCD is left to portray the picture in it's native format? in my case 1360x768. reason I'm asking is do I really need an upscaling DVD player if this is the case? input appreciated Cheers

I'm guessing the correct answer is to do with why many native hd tv's do not play back as good a quality to look at when viewind sd as a sd machine?
