hoody1
Hi, I've read this thread through and followed the setup options for the stu, but still have this annoying visual 'buzzing' on the stu menu (ie - around the graphics and words). I've recently bought a new pana plasma 42, and have toned down the picture settings to run it in. I have the uec 1000 (cable) and have set it to rgb output (was on pal but didn't make a difference). I used to notice this on my old crt, but was never this bad - probably because it was so small. this also happens to a lesser degree on espn. I have forced a firmware upgrade and, apart from ch10 being ghosty (as per another thread i posted in) i think the pq is as good as foxtel can output to me. any ideas people? also, how do i go about getting a new stu if this one is the cause of the problem? thanks
cyril
Firstly, changing the video out to RGB will not help unless you use the RGB signal. Assuming your Pana is a Pa60 or PV60 then it does not support RGB, however it does support Component video which the UEC 1000 also supports. I would recommend that you use that, you will require a suitable cable adaptor. DSE and Jaycar sell them. As for the buzzing, from where does it eminate, is it from the speakers or from the panel display itself. I assume we are talking about an audible buzzing not a visual one. Some plasma panels have been noted for buzzing on certain picture conditions, dont think there is much you can do about it. Cyril

Cyril thanks for your reply Cyril. yes we are talking visual 'buzzing' - like ants crawling around menu boxes and letters. have the 42px600a and am using scart from fox to scart on dmr75, hdmi from dmr to tv. tried component, pal and rgb - no difference. cyril
Ahh, then you are talking about chroma cross on the composite channel, often refered to as dot crawl. Its caused by the chroma signal which is high with the bright banner colours bleeding into the luma channel. To cure this use S-Video or component video. I recommend component video. You say you tried this, however changing the menu is only part of the story, you require a suitable cable as well. Try Jaycar WQ7255, or DSE CA0400 Cyril
