LBM
What is the deal? The other day they upconverted Simply Irresistible and now they can't seem to get the sound right on Welcome to the Jungle. First they lose the picture and now they are playing two channels of static instead of the 5.1 track. What a joke.
ozasis
In Adelaide they just totally dropped the HD picture...

ibanez5
Well in Perth, it's just started and there is no DD5.1 Nothing wrong with it on NBN HD, DD 5.1 and all.
LBM
Just a few minutes ago they appear to have removed the HD video and it is now UC and 2 Channel sound. Pathetic, this happens all the time with Nine - I just wait these days for them to lose every movie they show in HD... and I usually only have to wait 10seconds to 10 minutes. I know this is simply a whinging session from me but it does get annoying. To get this after starting with 1080i picture and 5.1 channel sound is frustrating. You are better getting the DVD for a couple of dollars.

UncleMarky
Hi. This is my first post on this great forum. I usually lurk just to keep up and stay informed. When DD 5.1 was lost on the Melb. HD transmission, I rang Channel 9 and the engineer said it was transmitted from Sydney and since thay had storms it was probably the cause. Then talked to the Sydney engineer who wasn't aware of the problem but would look into it. End result - HD pic. in Melb. dropped altogether and only UC SD 2 ch transmitted (still). Rang Ch. 9 Sydney back and informed the operator that since my viewing decision was based on the advertised HD transmission, I could no longer watch Ch 9 and would view another station instead. Also requested that my concerns be passed on to management. Complaining here can be a bit like preaching to the choir. We need to let them know there's a discerning audience of viewers out there who want consistent quality HD transmissions. Cheers, UncleMarky

That should have immediately clued you in to the simple fact that they just want you off the phone as fast as possible, and will say whatever it takes to make that happen. I doubt they even keep a record of the calls.
tre30
bleh, lame, would have been a good movie too watch, static sound after 25 minutes, absolutely deplorable, it started with buffer underruns then just died, and the sad thing is, there were hardly any errors being reported in the stream - we were receiving like it was *meant* too be transmitted... worst 'tech' job ever!
