Anthony123
Well im goin to buy a Yamaha 2700 AV Receiver soon and i know this has an upscaling feature to 720p/1080i now i also want to buy a dvd player/recoreder... should i be looking for one that upscales also or it wouldn't make a difference as the yamaha will be doing that anyways? or is it even better if both upscale?? texass44
Howdy, I have the Yamaha 2600. I find the scaler/deinterlacer in it does not do a particularly good job so I have it disabled. The 2700 may be better but I wouldn't assume it to be great. The scaler/deinterlacer in AE700 projector seems to do a better job, however most times these days I use my HTPC and get the PC to do the scaling/deinterlacing. Cheers....Tex. wheresbaz
Hi MrTypr, I have had my 2700 for a couple of days now. It is outputting video to Sanyo Z4 over component and HDMI. I have found on the foxtel and dtv the scaling improves the image. I used to have a sony dvd player progressive scan that I thought was great. However after reading a lot of info on this and other forums about the benefits of a decent upscaling dvd player. I bought a Denon 2910dvd player second hand of ebay. I must say out of all the purchases I have made this gave me the biggest surprise in difference. I did not think there would be that big a difference in PQ from my old Sony. After I bought my Denon I came across this thread on a Marantz Dvd player which you can buy brand new for what I paid for my Denon 2nd hand. It would be worth investigating if you are not going to buy into the HD war. http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtop...&hl=marantz Hope this helps Bill
