doodlefeatures
I'm new to the world of HD (only bought a STB to watch the footy in HD on ch Ten) and I've noticed that TenHD and 9HD are broadcasting all day, how do you know when the show is actually HD and not just an upscaled SD program? doodlefeatures
Try here: What's On in HD this WeekAs a new comer, also have a ready about digital TV and PVRs in the FAQs Regards Peter Gillespie I've checked out that list, what I meant was there anyway to tell when watching (other than examining the picture quality) ie I saw on Memphis Belle last night that there was a "9HD" in the corner instead of the standard 9, ch7 seems to have a "7HD digital" watermark at all times, and Ten just has there "10" on all channels. nervous
ch9 has a (9HD) watermark and ch10 has NO WATERMARK when a native 1080i program is shown.
Guest Toobtwat
If I press INFO on my TV remote, the definition comes up (in addition to a lot of other info). Don't know how accurate it is because it said the cricket last night was in 1080.....

BribieG
Also for the last couple of months ABC SD channels show the abc logo, but channel 20 is upconverted to 720p and doesn't show a logo. There are occasional native HD shows such as West Wing and Planet Earth. Next year SBS are apparently going to do something similar. ABC seem to be undecided about their HD logo because last weekend Planet Earth was shown in native 720p but no logo, much to the confusion of us forum members! Let's see what happens this Sunday.
