betty boop
what is it with these sales that fall through. the height of rudeness I reckon. I'd be pretty pissed if someone agreed to buy and then decided to pull out due to some lame @ss excuse. People should never put up to buy unless they actually want to or can. People should never put up to buy unless they actually want to or can. happens all the time unfortunately. most common scenario in my experience is people that quickly jump in and say they will take it, then vanish. you then spend time chasing them up only to eventually get a "yeah sorry, i changed my mind/bought something else" reply. i now dont consider it sold and remove my add/post until i have the money. serious buyers will typically pay promtly and without a fuss anywa. agree though, very poor form. GL with the sale yorac, those top of the range pioneer uni-players are excellent in my (biased) opinion!

Thanks guys yeah it is annoying but hey life goes on, the buyer is in this case highly respected on the forums so I have no doubt pulling out was only because he had to, hopefully someone else will pick it up. Of course on the other hand what we could do is get details off the buyer first and deliver a horse's head if they pull out
Thudd1503560234
Come on guys, $650 for this player? That's a bargain for sure, it'll be the last SD player you'll ever need to buy, and DVD-A + SACD playback to boot. If I wouldn't be hung drawn and quartered by the missus I'd grab it as a backup to my existing one in case it ever died!

How do you find DVD playback on the HDDVD player compared the Pio?Good luck jim I've alaways enjoyed the PQ and SQ on the Pio mate it is up there with the 3K Marantz and Denon at half the price, compared to the HD DVD I have run Batman Begins on both at the same time and I consider the SD DVD to be reference but there is just no comparison the HD blows it away in every aspect

Foggy
Just one question, you say it is gold in colour, I thought they only come in Silver for the Australian market?JDH. The Australian 969's were all gold, the Australian 989's are all silver. My 969 is a beautifully built machine, very rare in this price range. Aspect
Hi there fella's, Quick question. Would this unit have any advantages/disadvantages over using a Denon player with a Denon amp using their Denonlink? To be honest, I don't know what the Denonlink is supposed to do, but I thought I'd ask the question in the hope that you clever folk can answer. Cheers, Chris Denon link is Firewire ieee1394 (or iLink) without the power rails, it was implemented pre HDMI 1.2 as a way of transporting 1Bit Audio formats (SACD's DSD) in it's native form to the amp for decoding as SPDIF did not have the bandwidth to transport High Resolution Multi-Channel Audio. Aspect
Ok, cool. Thanks djOS! With that in mind, and not knowing what kind of audio outputs the Pioneer has, which would be a better overall pair? The reason I'm asking, is I'm going to buy a Denon AVR-3806 shortly. With that, I will look at getting a Denon player as well. But, is it worth spending the money on a Denon player just because of the link feature, or would I get as good, or better performance out of hooking up this Pioneer. Also remembering that the Pio is about half the price of the Denon... Cheers, Chris 'Noob'

Cheers, Chris 'Noob' If the Pioneer has Firewire/iLink (which I suspect it does) then it should work fine with a 3805 - don't take my work for it tho (as im speculating), DL the manuals for both and make sure. The 969 does have iLink, but it is NOT compatible with DenonLink which is their proprietary implementation.
