Guest Attadale
I currently have my Pace unit connected to a (now ancient) Pioneer 510 DVDR to get the rugby for later viewing. No component in on the Pioneer, so s-video used (with component out to my Hitachi 55 8800ta plasma). I can add a scart to component direct connection from the Pace to the plasma for when I am watching live. My question to those using component out: is there a difference in pq on Foxsports to make this worthwhile? If I want to record I cannot use component out (Pace can only output s-video or component, not both) - so no time lag option.
Doug1503559538
There is usually only a [very] minor difference in PQ, if at all, between S-Video and Component in all of the systems I have seen. I would just wire it like you suggested - any difference in PQ would be minor at best.

I can't agree with that statement.. I recently changed from S-Video to Component..and I'm now in a new world of PQ.. the improvement is quite measurable. big_marcelo
agree - on any TV 32" or larger it does make a difference... for example, I have two toppies, one connected via component and one via Svideo.... the component PQ is far more detailed and 3D then the svideo one.... same applies to foxtel.... mtv
In theory, and generally in practice YES, component is superior to s-video. However, it seems to depend on the combination of which source and screens are used. I have seen some combinations where the difference is staggering, but also others where I was hard pushed to notice any difference at all.
