Hopefully channel 7 will pull their finger out and improve their 576p broadcast resolution. :D

S28 do you know where its going to be based? If its Melbourne it would mean more HD afl matches I would guess.

It's based in Melbourne. Global TV also have one or two coming online soon but not sure of their base. ABC also have one ready shortly.

If its 7, it would have to have been Melbourne wouldnt it? What else would they want a HD van for? Its probably THE most expensive item of programming they have, they need it to be as good as possible.

Fingers crossed for proper HD coverage of both 7 and 10 games...if they wanna stop people watching games on Fox....HD is pretty much the best way to go about it if you ask me.

Who is picking up the games that Channel 7/10 can't broadcast? A few months ago they were talking about the ABC, SBS, even Channel 31!

I read in The Herald Sun Saturday that Andrew Demetriou AFL Chief Exec chaired a meeting with TEN, SEVEN and FOXTEL last Friday to end this crap that's gone on for so long.

Report was that an in-principle deal had been struck, and a resolution was hoped for as early as tomorrow. (pigs might fly.. Where's Jack when you need him )..meaning Foxtel would take care of the other 4 games. 2 Sat and 2 on Sunday, which would include the new Sunday twilight time slot.

Times a running out, so I hope they extract the digit soon

thank god the afl is gonna be broadcast in hd!!

on a related note, did anyone have the misfortune of buying the 2006 afl grand final dvd (WCE v SYD) last year? i must admit, they did a fantastic job of having it on shop shelves in regional wa (geraldton) only 3 (yes, three!) days after the event, but boy was the quality shocking. the game looked like it had been played in the 80s, the picture was that bad.

(it also didnt help that malcolm blight was on the commentary team and couldnt have fit more stupid comments into a single game....and then to top it off, they release a new version of the dvd a few weeks later with 3 additional commentary team audio tracks. if only i had of waited, i could have been blight free! )

I've had a look at a couple of the AFL grand final DVDs and they are tragically bad. Looks like half the pixels are trying to crawl off the screen. I auditioned a 3LCD 50" using the 2004 GF on DVD and decided the tv was a craptacular waste of money. I then tried the same DVD on a Sony X series and it looked almost as bad. It really demonstrated a catch cry I've regularly heard on these forums. Crap in = crap out!

I have a couple of AFL grand final DVDs and yes they are bad, and don't contain any extra content.

My favourite Blight comment was when he once claimed that he thought the game ball was biased so it always swung right to left (which when you think about it makes no sense, since you can hold the ball in different directions).

As a Crows supporter I'm not to sure I'm comfortable with all this Blight bashing

A lot of Adelaidians still think he's the Messiah. However, he's probably closer to a very naughty boy! :D

Trust me on this one.........have a look at the list we had playing for us , (apart from say 6 players)

and we won 2 Cups.

He will always be the MESSIAH amen & full stop !
