Snoopy8
There are lots of threads about how badly stores and sales people are treating their customers. For example, the following link about JB... http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=46263 However, that thread came out with a good experience from hoody1 see Matt at HN Carindale. take your receipts and he should match without drama. has done for me and another 2 forum members - both with 42px600a and the 50 models So who are they ? Can you please post your recommendations about the store, location and person we should support with future purchases of HDTV. I am in the market with a number of friends and would like to reward the nicer people. With enough of us buying from the nice people, we can send a message, backed by sales $, to those who treat us with disdain.
spiralout
Theres a Mark at HN Joondalup who seemed a really nice guy when I ordered my new TV/Warranty/Cabinet. Got it delivered next day, was happy to match the best price I had found elsewhere.
hoody1
good thread ccs! let's reward those who are professional and give good service (not just cheapest prices). best to explain what good experience each of us had, rather than just a name and store. let me offer more info - Matt not only matched price without quibble (although it was well below the price on his system which he showed me), he rang around to find the tv at a few stores because they were out of stock. Then he rang to find someone who could deliver the next day (because I wanted it next day - didn't want to wait 48hrs). I recommended him to another forum member and he had the same experience. i'll be going back to see him in future.

Santa1503559644
Yep, there've been a few threads along these lines, and it's good to balance the "bastards" threads. (As long as people corroborate accounts ... and make sure we don't get a stream of new members posting "I {myself} at the local HN" style advertising!) However ... wouldn't it fit better in, say, the reviews sub-forum, rather than HDTVs & HD Compatible Displays?
Shifta
The big picture people in Hoppers Crossing.....Melbourne..... hoody1
surely an easy way to monitor is if people put the prices they paid for certain items they bought. Of course, no one is going to follow a recommendation on this thread if the price paid for the goods is at rrp. no matter how 'nice' the rep is. btw - I told Matt at HN carindale i saw the price for the 42px600a at $2500 (4 weeks ago) and wty for $250. told him that's all I wanted to pay. and the pana dmr-ex75 at $650. done deal - him calling around to ensure I got it next day was plain good service regardless of how much he had to lose in profit - great attitude! Aqua
~ I thought it would be along the lines of the "wrong subforum" message! Santa, that definitely goes in the too hard basket. (Bit like the ‘how much you pay?’ thread)
Santa1503559644
Doesn't it better belong in the "Reviews" section? (OK, its Review of Products ... but, I suppose you could say that salesdrones are a product of their environment? )

mich1503559502
Of course, no one is going to follow a recommendation on this thread if the price paid for the goods is at rrp.no matter how 'nice' the rep is. thats just plainly not true. good advice recommending not necessarily the best product in a certain category, but the best for the specific customer can save you far more than a discount off rrp, and there are plenty of customers who realise that. ie. what would you prefer, someone who honestly talks you down from a HD LCD panel when they find out its for your elderly parents who just want something reliable to watch foxtel on, or someone who will give you 15% of the top HD model. perhaps thats not the best example, but still in many cases you will walk out of the store spending less speaking to an honest knowledgable sales person, than someone who doesnt know anything and whose only means of getting a sale is to cut the price. thats my opinion anyway, i'm sure many will disagree. Snoopy8
However ... wouldn't it fit better in, say, the reviews sub-forum, rather than HDTVs & HD Compatible Displays?I did not know where to put it, but because I am after a HDTV at the moment, I thought it was appropriate here. However, should the moderators see fit to move this to reviews, no objections from me.Good to see that there are some nice people out there... Guest mistered
Travis at Retravision Mt. Waverley. First experience was my Strong 5490 PVR. He rang around to order one for me, and still discounted the price $200 even though he could have charged full rrp. Delivered in less than a week. Second encounter was purchase of my Hitachi 42" 8800 plasma. Not noly a great price, he then put it on his own ute and delivered it after he knocked off work. He helped get it up the front stairs, and even installed it. Brilliant!
