Neon Kitten
As per the subject; for the past couple of days, Nine's had no now/next info at all on their channels. Very, very amateur of them to let it go for so long - what is this, Channel Ten? - or is it deliberate?

Very, very amateur of them to let it go for so long - what is this, Channel Ten? - or is it deliberate? We've had Now/Next on channel 9 Sydney for those last days as well as this morning. Must be something in Melbourne
LBM
ABC now/next isn't working either. I didn't realise how much I used these until they were gone.
Neon Kitten
Nine Melbourne's EPG is still out as of the time of writing this. Amazing they haven't noticed yet - but then, maybe they just don't care. The ABC one (now/next and the full EPG) went out last night sometime; in their case, going by previous posts from people "in the know", it's probably just the EPG guy being sick or otherwise away that's the cause. But yep, I agree, you don't realise how much EPG data helps till it's gone. For one thing, I now get to try and sort out which PVR recordings are Joan Of Arcadia out of recordings that auto-labelled: Nine Digital Nine Digital (1) Nine Digital (2) Nine Digital (3) Nine Digital (4) Nine Digital (5)

Neon Kitten
The ABC EPG is working fine here in Sydney, as is channel 9's, 10's, 7's and SBS's Sorry to say, but it must be a Melbourne issue or your STB's In Melbourne it still has a program listed as 00:00 - 23:59 ABC TV (Melbourne) So it's definitely not a problem at the STB end Meanwhile, I just rang Nine Melbourne and asked to speak to someone from their digital department. I got a laconic guy (which appears to be the standard in this department ) and the conversation went like this: ME: "Just wanted to let you know, in case you'e not aware, that your now/next EPG information on your digital channel has stopped being transmitted, but from what I'm told, it's only happening in Melbourne." NINE: "Hmm. That's strange. Very strange. Not working, you say? That's the first we've heard of it. That's really strange... (Pause) Errr, the thing that scrolls what's coming up in the next day is working just fine actually." ME: "No no no, not the video program guide channel. I'm talking about the electronic info sent out on your main channel that lets a set top box display what';s on now and what's coming up next. It stopped working the night before last and still isn't there." NINE: "Oh, that. Yeah mate, we know about that. We're aware of it." ME: "So, err, will it be fixed soon?" NINE: (It's-nearly-5pm-and-I-don't-care voice) "Yeah, yeah, yeah, it'll be fixed soon." So in a nutshell, expect no now/next info on Nine Melbourne for the next few days. EDIT: Just rang the ABC and got inexplicably put through the the extension for the woman that runs ABC2. I left voice mail
LBM
Thanks for the update, look forward to hearing what the ABC people say. Keep us updated if possible .
Neon Kitten
Nine's Melbourne now/next has returned as of early this evening. Funny how they "knew about it" for two days but only fixed it just after I rang them about it... The ABC EPG is still AWOL, and presumably will remain so until at least Monday. Neon Kitten
It has been back since last Wednesday. Thursday, actually - they picked up where they left off all those years ago, and hopefully will continue on through season 2 once they've played the 12 or so season 1 episodes they have left. Nice high definition eye candy, too.
anthonysimilion
Yes, quite right. Sorry for the mixup, last episode of the season of Everwood was on Wednesday. I'm have a feeling 'Mornings with KAK' will be back before they start playing Season 2.
Neon Kitten
I'm have a feeling 'Mornings with KAK' will be back before they start playing Season 2. I have a feeling you're right, sadly. I'm guessing this is Nine "burning off" seasons that they are about to lose the right to screen (and perhaps they are contractually obliged to do so?) There's more "Everwood" past the season they just finished (so my brother's Everwood-devotee fiance tells me, anyway!) and they don't seem in a hurry to show that any time soon. It's just a shame that real quality TV drama like Joan of Arcadia gets this sort of shoddy treatment. We had to wait TWO YEARS to see the rest of season one, while Nine happily put all manner of cheap crap (phone-sex ads, porn ads, weight loss infomercials, dubiously legal quiz scams, etc etc etc) on air with alarming regularity. Here's hoping that now they've lost the AFL football - and pretty much ALL their banner US drama programming for 2007 - they might dig into the archives a bit more often. anthonysimilion
Yes, there is the final season of 'Everwood' left to show. Nine is also several seasons behind with 'Gilmore Girls', to name one example.
eyestrain
Nine is also several seasons behind with 'Gilmore Girls', to name one example. Sorry to again take this OT but Gilmore Girls is yet another example of an excellent program left 'hanging' ... I wonder if the impending release of these series on DVD is behind Nein making some attempt to show them at all?
digitalj
...And just as I predicted, dls has caused N&N to malfunction, at least on 9 in Sydney, it currently says: 15:00-17:00 Wide world of Sports, Nine's Sunday Football 17:00-17:30 National Nine News Sunday From that, it's obvious the times are 1 hour early.
