Jericho returns for 2007 on February 21, in the United States.

Hopefully that means it will return to Australian screens on Thursday, February 22, 2007 ?

The reason for the delay in the States...

Woes continue for 'Jericho'

Betty Wusenstien, L.A. Entertainment Chronicler, Nov. 2006

Stumbling TV series "Jericho" is finally back on track, after a production set disaster threatened to derail the project and seriously delay release of the new series.

Sources close to the production revealed that a grip had been smoking in the actors/props storage warehouse when he inadvertantly dropped the cigarette, causing several of the cardboard characters to catch alight.

Quick action by other crew members managed to prevent the entire cast going up in smoke, but several of the main characters had to be reprinted, causing some anxious moments in the scheduling department.

Another close shave was avoided after it was later noticed that a collection of scripts had been victim of the flames. Fortunately, the computers were undamaged and were able to generate new copies following the existing formula. A spokesman noted that the new scripts were "even better than the originals!".

You have to admit. This show is crap.

Nope. If it was crap I wouldn't be watching :D

I do hope Ten show it as they did last season. I'd hate to have to ad another show to the BT queue.

hahaha. can't wait for this to come back, surely they couldn't leave us in the lurch after just half a season.

Well...it happened with Surface, which I also really enjoyed

Well, it's not the best, but really it's the only post apocalyptic disaster series around, and I'm a huge fallout fan, so what else am I going to watch?

It's funny, but apparently the fallout fan sites were one of the first to pick up on news of this series, back when it was being developed...

I loved that show. Did it actually get axed or did Ten just drop it?

  • 1 month later...

Already several episodes deep into the series in the US. Who knows what Channel 10 will do. Big Brother is due to get started again soon, so that'll take up most of their schedule along with AFL.

Yep, and the new eps have been great thus far - hope they can keep it up!!

cheers

Who cares what 10, 9, 7 or SBS do anymore, make BT your friend. Power to the people!

Very annoying the way 10 has treated the series.

Equally annoying is the loss of the pleasure of been current with the US, not the usual months/years behind. If TEN had wanted to challenge BT they now only they themselves to blame for its increasing success.

Well...not having enough bandwidth to download HD is one problem. Add to that theres not much stuff from SBS that appears online. And of course there's ISPs now starting to try and crack down on TV downloads.

Anyone with a 1500 DSL shouldn't have problems with 1080i or 720p downloads. An MPEG4 AVC 720p file is a little over a gigabyte. If you don't mind a bit longer wait, you can even do it on 512. Start the download before you go to work and it'll be waiting for you to watch it when you get home.

I don't know of any Australian ISP that specifically targets TV downloaders. Which one are you referring to?

As everyone who has a good broadband connection is probably downloading TV off the Internet (or knows somebody that does) anyway, should we not discuss it so much in this forum. Big Brother may notice and then try to make it more difficult to do so. Have a look at the Ten website in their forum on Jericho...it is all about getting the show off the net..

And the two how-to-download-TV-shows articles the Melbourne Age's Green Guide has published so far wouldn't have attracted "their" attention?

If you've ever wondered what the local networks think of "illegal" downloading, just call them and ask them. They (naively) simply don't care. The "head in the sand" mentality is rife at the commercial channels.

Good. Ten will learn that you reap what you sow.
