I've read an article from av mag on my mobile phone which I downloaded, and it came to my suprise saying that on the toshiba hd-a1 if your watching a hd-dvd and it outputs on 1080p(all movies on hd-dvd are), make sure that you at least ouput your unit to 1080i.The reason being for this, if you output your unit to 720p what it does is scales down to 480p then back up to 720p, while at 1080i it plays at full preformance. is that true?

if thats the case do I output my toshiba to 1080i and make my projector 1080i also? Projector is native 720p.

the HDA1 doesn't convert well to 720p (I'm not sure if later firmwares have fixed this or not) - so its best to output 1080i ....

the E1 does output 720p ok - but I still prefer to send 1080i (irrespective of the external scaler) - it messes less with the signal outputting @ 1080i .... since the signal is native 1080 anyway.
