Baf05
How long until all the stations in Canberra start to transmit HD full time? Not just some programing and then the loop? Anybody know?
digitalj
Not for donkey's years. There isn't enough HD available to make HD Channels 24/7, 7, 9 and 10 are 24/7, but they upconvert SD to fill in the gaps in the HD Channels, but PRIME, WIN and SC10, have really big markets and can't afford to buy 50 or so HD encoders, even though 1 HD encoder would be enough to allow them to upconvert the programs, it isn't enough for them to upconvert the ads, as every little market has different ads. Baf05
Bugger! At least nine and ten could be like prime and show all there content on the HD feed, that way we wouldn't have to keep swaping back and forth or look at that bloody loop! Mick C
I have it on good authority that at Capital/10 at Watson have been doing a fair bit of work upgrading their equipment recently, and all the regions transmissions go through here anyway...so maybe not as long as you think
Archie1503559588
Hi, I asked that very question of the channels and was told, essentially, just what was said. Simply, too expensive and too difficult. So much for being the nation's capital! Seems we're only important when parliament wants us to be otherwise we're just a big country town. So much for being the nation's capital! I too get tired of reading of lots of services and enhancements... but only to the "five mainland capitals"?!?!?!??!! Melb, Syd, Bris, Adelaide, and Perth. sigh
