Prime Hd Full 1080i

Recommended Posts

I'm confused i have a TwinTuner...

I have one tuner scanned showing PrimeHD in 720x576 - MPEG2

I have my other tuner showing 1440x1080i - AC3

The 1440x1080i channel is cutting out sound and stuttering every few seconds.

This is on "Planet of the Apes"

Anyone know what's going on?

Try rescanning both tuners.

I can get audio, but not video on PRIME HD atm. I tried rescanning, but it made no difference. Might have to try a reinstall.

Thanks for the reply, i rescanned both tuners...

I now get the 1440x1080i - AC3, but every program is stuttering like mad, it's unwatchable...

Sound and vision skips every 2 -3 seconds, Media Portal, DNTV Live, and Hypermedia are all doing the same thing.

All other Prime channels and other HD channels are working fine....

Anyone else in Canberra having any issues like this....

Finally we get 1080i prime, and it's worse than 576p..... (Oh the irony....)

I hope it's teething issues on Primes part.

It only seems to be my FusionHDTV program playing up with PRIME 1080i. I can see PRIME HD when I turn on Picture in picture in the Pip window, but I can't see it on the main window. But it seems to be just the FusionHDTV software because I can record PRIME HD with webscheduler and play it back without any problems with VLC player and edit with VideoReDo (In case you were wondering how I got my screenies).

Freak ;dont know how you have your hdcp configured; but Planet of the apes was 1080i without the AC3 sound - only mpeg -doesnt explain the vision problems though

Thanks for the feedback, i will wait till tuesday to see how it all goes....

I'm not sure why Hypermedia keeps finding AC-3 if it's only MPEG2. (it's the only channel it getting wrong)

I will look at manually changing the audio PID's (but yeah don't know why vision would skip)

I guess Hypermedia also doesn't support redirection, because at the moment both tuners show 720x576 -AC3 (or 704x480-AC3)

and both were playing Planet of the Apes (badly) are just black screens again at the moment.

(Rescanning again would likely fix that, however if i leave it until 6pm I'm sure the native HD will appear on it, without scanning.)

Media Portal is showing PrimeHD fine (at the moment), however it's obviously just SD.

(i'm guessing it autoredirects rather than upconverts?) But no skipping, and i didn't change any settings since last night.

DNTV Live also is showing Prime HD this morning, with MPEG2.... (at 720x576)

So i guess i just wait before getting worried.... And wait the the next native HD show to "News" and "Ugly Betty" tonight

to see what happens.

But i also tried recording from Media Portal, and the footage is the same (unwatchable) in playback...

(although i didn't try webscheduler)

Just work dagnabbit! :)

Thanks for the replies.....

Well it seems whatever the problem, it's all working fine now....

1440x1080i - AC3, National News and Ugly Better are all working perfectly,

and have no signs of stuttering or problems...... So all good.... :)

There is a MPEG2 and AC3 PID so it appears to be AC3 to me. (even better)

Is Sydney and Melbourne getting 1920x1080i?

I would like to see 1920x1080 to see the difference in quality.

Ditto that here :)

1920 isn't worth it at these bitrates, 1440 would be best.

Good to hear it's good..... Yeah i recorded Alias to see quality, but Resident Evil was only listed on my SD 7 Channel, so i didn't know if it was

shown unconverted, or at a real HD res.... It appears my ICETV guide got it wrong, and it was on in HD, shame about the audio though...

But hey it's a start.... :)

  • 2 weeks later...
my Prime HD in Bendigo has no sound when i set my decoder to Dolby mode. Its fine when its set to MPEG, but then I don't get 5.1 when its available.

LCN 60 is HD+DD only when Native HD is available, all other times, it's SD+MPEG
