There's useful info in the following links.

Unlikely you'll be using a true rhombic for TV, but rabbits ears may approximate some of the principles.

In reality most antennas are a jumble of some/all of them to achieve the very broad frequency response demanded by the TV spectrum.

Hi,

This probably is being posted in the wrong place but really hoping someone could help me out.

We moved into our house 3 years ago and noticed a wierd looking tv antenna on the roof in addition to the normal free to air antenna.

We also have a point near the tv and the plastic cover says FM/TV ?

Does anyone know what this is , what it is used for and how it gets connected to your television ?

Regards

Chris

Cris,

The TV/FM plate is used to connect a TV and an FM radio tuner to the repsective connectors. It simply separates the FM signal which is received from your TV antenna.

As for your 'weird looking' antenna, if you describe it, or better still, post some pics of it, we may then be able to advise what it is.

Very new to this forum but can't see any way to upload images ?

Chris,

I have just been advised by admin that the attachment feature (the insert image icon) is not working at the moment.

You may also be required to have a minimum of 10 posts to be able to use it (when it's working again)
