Jvc Dla Hd1 Powerbuy Thread

OMG.... a bomb's gone off in here :P , but it looks like the mess is all cleaned up now :P

In case anyone has any doubts, I can vouch for the authenticity of the deal that Ben and Jus have put together. Whilst I can't afford to upgrade to the JVC  , I've been keeping abreast of the happenings and speaking to a few other forum members, and I believe that the total deal that has been put together is excellent for all involved.

I'm going to be a very green rooster when you guys all start taking delivery of your JVC's. :D

I will be too envy of the guys who are taking delivery of their new JVC projector. I may have jump the gun a bit too early in getting the Sony VW-50 and DVDO VP-50 but I have no regret with the purchase VW50 and VW50 is still one of the best 1080P even now it is well beaten in performance by the new JVC HD1. Hopefully VW50 will last at least two years unlike my previous projector before upgrade bugs bites again ...

New information has come to hand guys   :P

I think I would you sell your sony vw 50 while you still can. And perhaps upgrade.

I never thought I would have to wear a hard hat while in front of the computer.

Absolute madness

Even if I like to buy the new JVC I just don't have the budget at the moment to upgrade.

To get the JVC it would mean I probably have to sell both VW50 and VP50 to free up

some money. Ben PM me the price on JVC I might just think about it .....

I just sold my NEC HT1000 projector on ebay. Somebody got a bargain!

Now the question is do I get the JVC or a Mitsubishi HC3100 from Price Japan?

The JVC sounds great, but is it 4x better than the NEC? I have the money set aside for the JVC, but as I am saving for a home deposit, the extra few $k's could come in handy. I have some thinking to do!

Does anyone have any advice? I don't have HD-DVD or BR at this stage, but will do in the next few months.

Hi to all I just thought you may like to know Art Friedman of projector central will be getting a unit to review side by side with the siny vw50 pearl . I like his reviews as they are more empirical and subjective than just pure spec ... Should have it around 18-22nd feb . Some more info and tesing will be good to know ..... cheers ....... The contrast ratio is more than 3 times better, the resolution is more then two times better, it is three chip and not single chip, has better video processing, a local warranty, etc. etc. It all depends on how critical you are but if you are going full HD in the near future I would go for the JVC. Don't forget to add gst to the quote from Price Japan

Save even more by buying the HC1100 and buy the house.

House prices go up. Projector prices go down. The earlier you buy the house the cheaper it will be. The later you by the projector the cheaper it will be.

And besides, you can't have a Home Theatre if you don't have a home.

Could someone please email me the expected price if I jumped on board with the power buy? I was not really aiming at getting a pj for about another 6-7 months as we are beginning to build our dream home tomorrow and a HT is in the planning stages ect....so if someone can let me know what the expected price would be if I got one now and I could see if its justified againt waiting 6 months when they will probably drop in price anyway.

Hello Guys the power buy as we know it is still ON.

However a new or old player wants to play ball with us. This could result in a lower price than what we official have at the moment.

Should have an answer by late tommorow.

The only real winners in this game are US.

Thanks for the prompt reply Ben.

I have been checking out this guys thread, about his experience with one he just received. From the consumers perspective too and not a reviewer.

Check it out. He has posted a few pics as well, does sound very tasty indeed.

The first thing you notice is how black the top and bottom black bars are. Watching Star Wars is a revelation. Suddenly the black space is full of stars. Not just a few, but lots! And space is actually black! Something always lost in the DI projectors I've previously owned. The superb contrast is also highlighted in the engine colours, which stand out like beacons against a very black space. The blue engine's throb a beautiful blue, as do the orange explosions, theres absolutely no dulling of the bright colours in dark scenes

And the detail in the dark is superb. I can see detail in the cockpits that were just hidden before. And in the close ups of Anakin and Obi Wan in their ships, their faces always looked washed out against the bright flashing lights. Now they have natural skin colours

p.s you really do have to check that guys thread out fellas, he has posted some great pics of this machine showing off some Blu ray shots...even accounting for a digital camera not doing them justice they are impressive to say the least.

Thanks guys for your input, I will probably opt out for now and wait and see considering I really dont have anywhere to enjoy such a unit right now, but I guess in 6 months time I will defineately be up to the next big group buy of the next big thing in town. hehe.

cheers.

I dont think there will be an immediate drop in price for the JVC HD1 for quite a while, having said that. The only reason we have been able to get a good price for something thats by all accounts a HOT item around the world, is because we have numbers. Buy in bulk and save!

Sorry for the OT, but ....

Is it just me or does the shiny black JVC remind anyone else of the sexy new 1000 horsepower Bugatti Veyron that was on Top Gear the other night (a 700,000 pound car that allegedly costs 5 million pounds to build? (Fortunately the JVC is a bit cheaper)

Stop it

Seriously, that is the best shots I have ever seen of a projected image.

Fantastic.

I will be so happy when its time to upgrade in 2 years and I can hopefully pick one of these babies up for under $3K.

Andrew.

ps: don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to stir or abuse you guys who are buying one now. After reading that thread, if I had the cash I'd be in on this group buy quicker than a rat up a drain pipe :D

Actually, if the Samsung SP-H710AE came in piano black, it would be a scale model of the Veyron.

Aargh the thought of it, comparing a Samsung product with a Bugatti :D:blink:
